1. Controller

2. Contact form and contact by e-mail

When you use the contact form, I process the data you provide: your name, e-mail address, optionally your company, your message and the time of the request. Providing it is voluntary; without a name, e-mail address and message a request cannot technically be submitted. The same applies accordingly if you e-mail me directly.

Purpose: Handling and answering your request and any subsequent coordination about a potential project. Your data is not used for advertising or newsletters.

Legal basis: Performance of pre-contractual measures at your request pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR; for general enquiries, my legitimate interest in answering them pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Retention period: Your request is delivered to me as an e-mail and stored in my mailbox; there is no additional storage in a database. I delete requests once they have been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

3. Recipients and data processing

Your request is transmitted to me by e-mail via my own mail server (SMTP) and stored there. Hosting and e-mail dispatch take place within the European Union (Hetzner Online GmbH, German data centres). I do not use external automation or marketing services for this. Where service providers process data on my behalf, data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place.

Your data is not transferred to the USA, China or other third countries. Processing takes place exclusively within the EU.

4. Accessing the website / server logs

When the website is accessed, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type). This processing is necessary to provide the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is my legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. This data is not combined with the details from your contact form submission.

5. Automatic language selection

On your first visit, your IP address is briefly checked server-side against a local, self-hosted country database to automatically show the website in German (when accessed from Germany, Austria or Switzerland) or English (worldwide). This check runs exclusively on my own server; no data is sent to third parties or external geolocation services, and the IP address is not stored. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a user-friendly presentation pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If you pick a language manually via the DE/EN switch, that choice is stored as described in section 6 and takes precedence over automatic detection.

6. Cookies and local storage

This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Only technically necessary local browser storage is used, for example to remember your language choice and your acknowledgement of the cookie notice. Pursuant to § 25 (2) TDDDG this storage does not require consent, as it is strictly necessary for the service you requested.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and a right to object (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent given at any time. To exercise your rights, an email to martin@klarbeleg.eu is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Data Protection Commissioner of the State of Brandenburg.
